turtlemunky Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Hello, this is actually my second topic asking for help here. Well my problem is that before yesterday IMGburn would burn fine, but now at around 70% through burning, the entire application freezes, and the performance of my computer decreases to the point where it barely operates. I have to close it using task manager, so I can never capture a log. It actually works flawlessly up until 70%. This problem just started yesterday, and I don't believe I've installed any applications that could impact IMGburn. I have used other applications such as the default windows burning, and Nero, and none of these seem to have to same problem, so I'm confused. Thanks in advance.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 What drive do you have? How is it connected? What OS are you running? What drivers do you have installed? Which filter drivers are installed on your PC?
turtlemunky Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223F, connected through SATA, I think that's what you meant. Windows Vista x64 bit. I'm not sure how to find a list of drivers, but I believe my drivers are all up to date.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Ok, what motherboard do you have? Which controller is the drive connected to? (if more than 1 is present) The filter driver list can be accessed via the Tools menu in ImgBurn.
turtlemunky Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3P is my motherboard. =============================================== Filter Driver Load Order - ImgBurn v2.4.2.0 =============================================== Upper Device Filter: [None Found] Upper Class Filter: [None Found] Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: [None Found] Lower Device Filter: [None Found]
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Install the latest Intel chipset drivers from here: http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/inf/ Install that, reboot and then go into device manager and open up the IDE/Atapi branch and remove the 'controller' entries, then reboot again. If your controller is in AHCI mode, make sure you have the latest Intel Matrix drivers installed from here: http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/
