The guy told me that are tested and working perfectly for xbox games that i need.. i burned 2 of them and whereas IMGBURN said the operation was successful i got 2 warning at the point it changed the layer!! Here's the log I 04:58:46 ImgBurn Version 2.2.0.0 started! I 04:58:46 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 04:58:46 Total Physical Memory: 1,048,052 KB - Available: 533,832 KB I 04:58:46 Initialising SPTI... I 04:58:46 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 04:58:46 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD Edited December 7, 2008 by agents
mmalves Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 That message means the hard disk wasn't able to transfer data fast enough for that burn speed. Defragment your HD and this problem shouldn't happen again. Notice that the slowest burn speed available for that type of disc is 4x, so even though you've selected 2.4x the drive burns it at 4x. By the way, please upgrade to the latest ImgBurn
agents Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 thank you so much for the fast reply!! I'm sure that the new verbatims caused these warning!!My biggest concern though is if the copies will have any problems.. So far they seem OK.. Anyone else with a similar issue? Are these warning tottaly harmless? i m getting the new version..
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 The buffer thing is nothing to do with the disc, it's to do with the speed of your system/hdd and it not being able to supply data quickly enough for burning at 2.4x. Maybe you opened a program that's quite hdd intensive and ImgBurn's buffer was starved of data. Update to 2.4.2.0 and make the buffer 40MB instead of 20MB (if it doesn't default to that already).
agents Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 you are right the new version has default buffer size 40MB.. i hope that this will solve the problem So the buffer hasnt anything to do with the discs??My copies are ok??
mmalves Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 If it passes the Verify stage then yes, it's a good burn
agents Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 ok guys i update Imgburn and installed latest firmware for my burner.. the new log I 09:47:51 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! Cynthia Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 The Warning about the device is harmless probably? That one is 'normal' and is always seen in that part in the log. I never understand why that one is a W and not and I...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 No reason really, it just makes it more obvious when it's stuck doing that for a while - i.e. in the case of bad discs that the drive cannot reinitialise. It's less important now that ImgBurn automatically cycles the tray and brings up other messages when there's a problem in this area.
