mmalves Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I 10:55:47 Destination Device: [4:0:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H42N RL00 (E:) (SCSI) There's firmware RL01 available at http://au.lgservice.com/ (Device Driver -> DVD-ROM(Writer) -> page 6). Remove any disc and close the tray before upgrading. Reboot after it has finished. Also make sure you have the latest storage drivers available for your chipset/motherboard.
volvofl10 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 i think you have just been lucky so far that the memorex worked O.K till now. the firmware update "may" solve the problem for a while, but its only a matter of time before the actual discs fail you. have a look HERE at these independant reviews. Your's is the first memorex in the list with 16 comments you should look at for the other side of the story http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Have you recently updated your drivers or anything? Windows is returning an error code so it's not even from the drive itself. What controller is your drive attached to?
