Cheney Accidentally Shoots Hunter in Texas

Sunday, February 12, 2006

:suicide:

WASHINGTON ? Late night comedy stars are probably planning a slew of new jokes after news broke Sunday that Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and injured a hunting buddy.

Harry Whittington, 78, was hunting quail with Cheney on Armstrong Ranch in south Texas when Cheney sprayed his friend with birdshot. Bird shot disperses a spray of small pellets rather than a single larger shotgun round.

First, I noticed the immediate spin, that is also appearing on the news channel itself, that the primary thing they want you to take off the bat is how more important it is that late nate comedians are going to make jokes about this. ;) Well, to Hell with them, as I will now make jokes!

Whittington: "LOOK! TERRORIST QUAIL!"

Cheney: "WHERE?!" *Immediately swings towards Whittington and shoots, first, asking questions later*

Cheney: "Oh, I though you said terrorist Quayle! Worst... Vice... President... EVER!"

What a story, heard it on the radio this aft'noon, started laughing so hard I almost drove off the road! And this guy is second in command?

Scary, isn't it.! :o

Oh well, you guys don't have exclusive right to dopes in power. Our recently elected Prime Minister was photographed last summer at The Calgary Stampede (a huge fair & rodeo) wearing a cowboy hat the wrong way round (which isn't considered cool anywhere, unlike dick-head hats), and a leather vest that may have fit him in high school, but now risked taking out an eye with a torn button. Having said that he didn't shoot a 78 year old =))

Too bad he wasn't hunting with King George!

Took the words right out of my mouth bill.

Actually, clicked the wrong thread as I already read the article earlier and posted "Dam, I wish Bush went hunting with him =))" in the other thread before I realized.

On second thoght, that might not be a good idea for bush to go hunting with Cheney :whistling:

Look who becomes president then?

I like that one guy in the White House Press Corps who asked "Why did it take 22 hours for the Press Corps to be told about the Vice President of the United States accidentally SHOOTING someone?!"

From the news this am it appears that he will receive an "official warning" whatever that means as he was missing a "gaming stamp" from his gun licence.... julli-hunter.gif

Yeah, and anyone even attempting to try and make that warning stick will mysteriously be visited by men in black and wind up somewhere in the Secret Bunker.

I love how Fox News is spinning the press coverage of this as a non-story. So, the Vice President of the United States accidentally SHOOTING someone isn't news? I believe the last time that happened... WAS IN A PISTOL DUEL! And, it's been some 150 years since. Plus, that was INTENTIONAL. :)

They said on Sky News this am that the lawyer has now had a heart attack and was back in intensive care...... What happens if he snuffs it I wonder ?

Of course, the funny thing is both sides are taking this out of control. Cheney shot someone, that's news! He shouldn't have tried to keep the story down. BUT, it was an accident, and, even if the guy died, it would not have been a crime that the Vice President would need to step down for. As usual, the problem with people blinded by partisan politics, which always results from a dominating dual party system, is they are color blind: they fail to see grey.

While I'll agree with you on it being an accident I don't agree with the "blinded by partisan politics" part. I think what we have seen here with Cheeny trying to keep the story down and the rest of the bullshit he said falls right in line with this administrations take on things. That take being that they can do whatever the fcuk they please, even if it is unlawful, and they should not have to answer to anyone.
