Another "Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present)"

I've searched through a lot of pages to try and fix this problem but I'm still having trouble. I am trying to burn a video that I downloaded onto a Verbatim DVD+R DL disc. I went through a program called DVD Flick which encoded the video and everything, but now when I try and do the actual burning in ImgBurn, I am unable to do so because in the bottom left of the program it says Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present). Also, when I click the tab "Device" it is grayed out but there is written "LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S PS08 (ATA)" then below that it says "Current Profile:N/A", if that is any use. I'm trying to use the guide for burning DVD files onto a dual-layer disc but when I get to the stage where apparently there is supposed to be a lot of information in my Device tab, all that is there is what is in the previous sentence. The big green "Write" arrow button seems to be permanently grayed out.

Here is a log:

Eject the disc and reinsert it. Does the message in the status bar change to something else before then saying no media is present?

If so, your drive just doesn't like the discs. Buy different discs or buy a new drive.

Yeah, after the disc is loaded into the computer for a couple seconds the message says "Logical unit is in process of becoming ready". I've tried a Verbatim DVD+R DL disc, a Memorex DVD+R DL disc, and a Maxell DVD-R and it happens with all of them. So there's no solution except to buy a new burner?

I have had the same problem as bjoseph. I am using Maxell DVD-R, TDK DVD-R and Phillips DVD-R. I have used these in the past and everything worked fine. I tried burning dvd's the past 2 days and got the same message as bjoseph. I have a NEC DVD+-RW ND3530A. Please HELP.....

Does it recognize original/burned discs?

No it doesn't. I put in a DVD I've burned already and got the same message. I use another source to copy the original DVD to my hard drive and then I use ImgBurn to burn the dvd. This problem just seemed to happen in the last 2 days and nothing has or was changed with the way I do this.
