imagineer1948 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Hi I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I have no shortage so I will ask. I have a large program that I downloaded in 5 .rar files I then extracted them into 1 .iso file which is 4.8GB. I have a pioneer DVD/CD writer (New) 20x20 dual double layer. when I load the file to be burned into ImgBurn it tells me it is to large for the 4.7GB disc in the writer. OK I know there must be a way either to increase the capacity of the disc by some settings or to divide it between 2 discs. Can anyone tell me what to do? I have had success burning several smaller programs to DVD's using the same combined iso file so I know that works.
LOCOENG Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 You can't increase the capacity of the disc and splitting doesn't make much sense. You can compress it slightly using DVD Shrink. Because of the capabilities of DVD Shrink we can't discuss it's usage here, but a quick google search will turn up some good stuff for you...it's another free program.
Cynthia Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 If it is a computer program, you can't "shrink" it. Try with a double layer disc.
