Dual layer media burns fine but isn't readable?

Well I bought some memorex DVD+R DL media....

Okay I guess it isn't wise to start a thread like that around here... :teehee:

In any case here is my situation. I backed up my DVD collection with CloneDVD2 into the ISO format. Then I found out that CloneDVD2 doesn't save the layer break information. Since then I've been using imgburn. The problem is now I want to burn those clonedvd2 iso files to dvd. So I mounted the image, used DVDD to create a video_ts folder and then used imgburn to burn it and create the layer break information. Problem is, after a successful burn imgburn can't even start the verification process saying the disc is unreadable and a I/O error. Sure enough windows wont recognize the disc, my dvd player won't, etc etc. Any suggestions?

One note, I may have had anydvd open durring this entire process and no I don't have a log. chair.gif

Update: The drive was so befuzzled that I had to restart windows otherwise it wasn't recognizing or reading any media that I gave it.

Is this really how bad the media is or am I doing something wrong?

Update2: Burning a dual layer iso created with imgburn with the same media resulted in a fine burn. I'm stumped. :/

In ImgBurn, go to Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs and see if you can find the log from the failed burn.

First of all, make sure you're using the latest drivers available for your chipset/motherboard.

I 12:01:32 Destination Device: [0:0:0] TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S203B SB02 (E:) (ATA)

I 12:01:32 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x)

I 12:01:32 Destination Media Sectors: 4,173,824

There's firmware SB04 available for your burner. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished.

Even though the error code wasn't correctly reported, the problem is low quality media, so please read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
