Cynthia Posted December 28, 2008 Share Posted December 28, 2008 The issue is that even if the write part of the log shows no problems, the verify part shows that the writer has problems to read the disc. Perhaps try with another brand of media that the burner likes better, if the firmware update/speed change doesn't help. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mrgodzilla Posted December 29, 2008 Author Share Posted December 29, 2008 Okay i burned the same iso different burner with no issues. i tried another iso(which are wii games for backup purposes) on the last burner i had the problem with and it had no issues at all. both using the same sony 16x dvd-r if i can ask one question is there a certain brand dvd that works better with burners????? and thanks for your help. Cynthia Posted December 29, 2008 Share Posted December 29, 2008 In my opinion Verbatim is of higher quality. There are some Verbatims made in China that are of questionable quality. The best ones seems to be made in Singapore. I use +R Verbatims made in India and those are also nice ones. Sony media uses various media codes and some are of high quality. LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 31, 2008 Share Posted December 31, 2008 Go for 8x discs if that's all the drive can handle. Personally I'd go for Taiyo Yuden 8x (TYG02 dye) if you want DVD-R. I think the TY DVD-R discs are better than the Verbatim ones (assuming the verbs aren't TY dye anyway!).
