georginio21 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 hello i'm a new user here with not too much experience. i'm using ricoh dvd+r dl and an external dvd writer LG 2164D (firm1.01). i'm trying to write discs at 2.4x speed but i am unlucky all the times. it stops from 60% to 95%. i have tried to write 2-3 different things in different speeds but it's the same result in every situation. i have "destroyed" approx 10 discs. below is the log i get. it's almost identical every time. I 22:14:21 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 22:14:21 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 22:14:21 Total Physical Memory: 982.508 KB - Available: 468.092 KB W 22:14:21 Drive I:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. I 22:14:21 Initialising SPTI... I 22:14:21 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 22:14:22 Found 1 CD-RW, 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD

georginio21 Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 i have seen that post but i wanted to post the log in order to be certain that there is no other more serious problem. so verbatim is the way to go... i'll try them out and hopefully my problems will get solved. but those ricoh discs aren't cheaper (at least here in greece ). i hope the problem is the discs and not my drive... thanks for the quick response.
georginio21 Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 it was the discs afterall. with verbatim dvd+r dl everything went ok. thanks LIGHTNING UK.!
