pressrocks Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Hello, I tried to change booktype to burn DVD+R for Wii backup copies. The DVD burner is a Samsung. I clicked on: "Change book type..." icon -> Samsung form: Change for: Drive (For DVD+R Media) Current setting: Unknown (No way to query current setting!) New setting: DVD-ROM When click on "change" ImgBurn shows a "Success!" window (and on the log windows, when the burning starts it's reported "changed book type on DVD-ROM) but after the burning the copy doesn't work. This is the same both for Maxell and Verbatim DVD+R. Someone can help me? I have WinXp professional SP3 with ImgBurn 2.4.2.0. Following the information in the "write image file to disc" window: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U US09 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+R Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 2,295,104 Free Space: 4,700,372,992 bytes Free Time: 510:03:29 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x; 4x Physical Format Information (ADIP): Disc ID: RITEK-F16-01 Book Type: DVD+R Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Disc ID: RITEK-F16-01 Book Type: DVD+R Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0
cornholio7 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 not surprised that the ritek discs dont work. can you paste the info from a verbatim burnt disc please
mmalves Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 By the way, ImgBurn, by default, automatically booktypes +R media to DVD-ROM on Samsung (TSSTcorp) burners
pressrocks Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 Hello, yesterday a DVD+R verbatim worked (even with an error before the finalization, see the log). I only changed the buffer dimension (and DVD-ROM in Samsung form obviously).
