Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished. By the way, where are your Verbatim discs made? It's written in the packaging.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 If the firmware update doesn't make it work, try burning at one/all of the other available write speeds. I 17:11:57 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MKM-001-00) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x) If they still don't work, it's probably time to get yourself a new drive (althought you could try cleaning it first).
