steptoe Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Is that a dual-layer media you're using by any chance as some alleged 'quality' DL media is terrible and WILL fail around the layer break mark, I've had that problem myself and once you find DL media that burns fine stick to it Also avoid 'bargain bucket' DL media, and DO spend more money on better brands, even if its expensive as you'll get more satisfaction from that extra spent as you will get either no bad burns or very few They are in spindles of 50 or even 100 for a reason, its possibly B or C grade media, you need the best you can afford for things that you want to burn
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Try burning at one of the other 'supported' write speeds. If that all fails, try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. If that fails, invest in a new drive.
Ps2GameBurner Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 I Cannot Update the Firmware for my Drive. If Someone can Find a Update for HP DVD Write 640c that would be great. The Firmware i have now is CS30.
mmalves Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 You may want to crossflash your HP DVD Writer 640c to the real OEM, which is BenQ DW1625 from what I've read. Search at http://club.cdfreaks.com/ or ask them on how to do it By the way, HP's site is being a bitch and redirects me to DVD Writer 640i page when I click on 640c's link
