resident037 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I have the latest ImgBurn and the latest firmware 1.09 on my Pioneer 116 drive. I have always used ImgBurn and I use TY Dvd-R I have the right drive selected and its not a bad disc because I try others and the same thing happens. Even if I switch drives and put the blank in the other drive I still get the same thing. My Dvd Rom Drives are G: and E: Once I restart my computer it works properly, but I get this every so often. It has to be something wrong with my computer and not ImgBurn I 14:05:03 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 14:05:03 Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (6.0, Build 6000) I 14:05:03 Total Physical Memory: 2,029,440 KB - Available: 1,365,656 KB I 14:05:03 Initialising SPTI... I 14:05:03 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 14:05:03 Found 1 DVD-ROM, 1 DVD
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Eject the disc and reinsert it. Does the message in the status bar change at all... even for a second? You can also eject the disc, press F8 and then insert it again. ImgBurn polls the drive every second and you'll see debug I/O commands scrolling in the log window reporting the status code of the drive. If you don't get anything in the log when you press F8 it probably means the bus has crashed/got stuck and it needs resettings - which is what would happen when you reboot. What type/make of controller is your drive connected to? Do you have an intel chipset motherboard? an nvidia one?

resident037 Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 I just noticed that when this problem occurs that my computer won't even read any disc .. It thinks that the drive is empty and ejects .... What could this be....
