There is no media limitation in ImgBurn.

 

It'll burn until your drive errors out - and your drive returned a 'Write Error' meaning it was probably a bad disc.

 

Slow the write speed down a bit, maybe you'll have more luck.

 

Anything above 80mins is out of spec really and therefore you're more likely to run into problems burning them - especially at the end of the disc when the drive is spinning at very high speeds.

Ah well thanks.. I only had those CD-R discs lying around. I wasted the last two remaining discs I had. Not gonna buy 800MB/90min again. no need. I'll rather cut the .avi file next time to shorten it if needed.
