LIGHTNING UK!
Your drive is old and doesn't support that media. You might have more luck with Verbatim 8x or Taiyo Yuden 8x discs. Really though you could do with investing in a new drive.

Cynthia
Many times an external through USB 2.0 is the the best way to get a nice writer with laptops. Internal slim line writers have there share of problems.

Cynthia
I think you will get a variety of answers depending on who you ask. I can only give you the flavors I like. Either a Pioneer or Optiarc 720x IDE version, and mounted in an USB box. Seems to be less issues with those two brands, at least based on the error logs posted in this forum. Also burns very nicely (good quality of the burns). The advantage of an external writer is that you will have higher available write speed, internal slim lines very often can't burn faster than 8x - like this Optiarc - http://www.sony-optiarc.eu/en/exhibits/sli...s/ad-7590a.html Edit: According to the specs you should have 2 USB 2.0 ports in that laptop. Really though you could do with investing in a new drive. I just bought this laptop and you are telling me that I need a different driver. It's a Hitachi HTS542516K9SA00. The only way to burn 360 games is through an external drive? I have the verbatim discs.
Cynthia
According to Google - Hitachi HTS542516K9SA00 - is a 160GB hard disk...

Is this how you people work in the real world when someone doesn't understand something (WOW). Anyway, I think my dvd drive is a Optiarc DVD RW 7560S. Not sure if this is correct but this is what shows up as the destination of the burn on my IMGbURN. I will try again tonight to see if it works, and post my results. LIGHTNING UK!
Cynthia was being anything but an arse! She was simply pointing out that the model number you quoted was for a hard disk and not an optical drive - a hint for you to perhaps try and find a different one?! Oh and don't think for a second that she'd have just know that, she'd have Googled it just the same as everyone else would have done. Not everyone is out to get you, some are actually here to help. Lighten up!
