Erasing BD-RE fails

I tried to erase a BD-RE disc with a LG GGW-H20L with ImgBurn. After erasing the program shows a dialog that erasing succeeded, inclusive the friendly music. But after closing the dialog the program shows: "Disc not empty" in the status line.

I tried the disc included with the drive and a Verbatim BD-RE, both with the same result.

Do I do something wrong? Is the drive defective?

This is what the Device tab reports:

Use the sector viewer to look at the 80 sectors on the disc.

If any of them aren't all Zeros after a quick erase then for some reason your drive has failed to write to the disc - but without actually reporting any problem.

I've seen several cases where the supplied LG disc doesn't work so that in itself is not an issue, but it is if Verbatims don't work either - they work fine in my H20L.

The sector viewer shows all 00 for at least the first 80 LBA's.

I used a Verbatim BD-RE !!!!

Isn't it strange that the Device tab shows: Erasable: No and Disc Type BD-RE

I thought BD-RE stands for Blu-Ray Recordable and Erasable.

Yes indeed I have Alcohol 120% installed.

And yes when I disabled the "View - Options - Emulation - Ignore Media Type" flag, thinks looked much more logical.

THANKS
