race301 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I downloaded Windows 7 and want to burn a .iso image. When I`m done it comes out as a .MDS file? Is this the same? Dave.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Did you download from Microsoft? It's certainly an ISO when you get it from them. Then you just use Write mode (or click the 'Write Image File To Disc' button on the main page) to burn the ISO. I've no idea where your MDS file came from.
race301 Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 When I downloaded from Microsoft, it ended up as a zip file? So I unzipped to a folder named 64b and opened ImgBurn to create a iso and it made a mds file? Did you download from Microsoft? It's certainly an ISO when you get it from them. LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 It wasn't a zip, it was an ISO. You must just have your compression tool associated with ISO files (turn it off in the settings!) You can also have explorer show file extensions so that kind of problem doesn't happen again.
