robertrr61 Posted January 24, 2009 Share Posted January 24, 2009 I've been burning dual layer DVDs for a while now, using an Optiarc AD7190 drive. Recently I reinstalled Windows and now when I insert a blank DVD DL into the drive, ImgBurn doesn't see it and just displays the "Device not ready (Medium not present - Tray closed)" message. Does this have to do with setting the book type or something? I know the drive works so surely it has something to do with the ImgBurn setup? ImgBurn reports the exact error/status code the drive tells it so this is not a software issue. Does it recognise any discs you put in it? robertrr61 Posted January 24, 2009 Author Share Posted January 24, 2009 Now it doesn't even read CDs. I don't get it, it worked perfectly before and I haven't touched the wiring or anything. Posted January 24, 2009 Share Posted January 24, 2009 Does the message in the status bar change at all when you insert the disc? i.e. when you eject the tray does it change to '.... - Tray Open' ? And having inserted the disc and close the tray, does it then change to something like 'in process of becoming ready' ? If so, it's kinda working but I expect the drive's laser has actually broken.
