I have a problem with my Bd re. The first time I burnt some data on the disc and there were no problems. Then i tried to burn something else and hoped that imgburn would erase the disc automatically. The device buffer went up to 3% and the stopped. Write rate was 0.1x and the write retries increased every two secons...i stopped the burn process and then i see: synchronise cache faile! reason: unknown

I tried to format the disc under Vista but without success (by the way, do i have to format a Bd re the second time i want to burn something on it?)

are really the Verbs the problem?

sorry for my english....

You only ever format BD-RE once, after that you can just overwrite the sectors - and this is all handled automatically so don't worry about it.

I assume the discs surface is in perfect condition? No scratches etc?

The Verbatim BD-RE discs are by far the best and actually the only ones I know that have always worked on the GGW-H20L when others (TDK etc) have failed.

Maybe you were just unlucky with that disc, did you happen to buy 2?!

Are you able to try your drive in another PC / under another OS to make sure it's not related to your hardware / bad drivers?

thanks for the fast answer! i have to format the discs every time because without formating the disc can`t be burnt. I know that sounds strange but imgburn cannot write over the old files...when i try to erase the discs (quick) there happens nothing and if i try full erase i have no success, too.

The discs are in perfect conditions so that should not be the problem...

now i tried it again: i am not able to burn over old files...
