I recorded a TV program on the Media Center and used the imburn 2.4.2.0 edition to download the program onto a TDK DVD-R 4.7GB/GO DVD.

The DVD plays back very well on the Dell Computer, but will not play on any of our DVD players.

The DVD players are OK with all other store bought DVD's but is not designed to play DVD+/- RW discs which is why I recorded on a DVD-R disc.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum, Merlincat! :)

If you open up the burned disc in Windows Explorer, can you then see a VIDEO_TS folder with some .bup/.ifo/.vob files inside. There might also be an AUDIO_TS folder in the root of the disc.

You might need to convert the video(s) to DVD-Video format before burning, so they'll play on any DVD player. You can do that using DVD Flick (free), ConvertXtoDVD (paid) or similar programs.

When I open up the disc the only icon I see is the Windows Media Player Icon.

Thanks.

Only one file - then it's not a DVD compliant disc. Try to convert it to DVD format by reading post #3.

My only option is to open/play the disc in either Windows Media Player.

The disc plays OK on my computer.

Thanks,
