Brian002100 Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Here is the log that I am getting when running with the interface set as SPTI. As you can see from the log I tried using VSO. VSO worked, but the DVD was very choppy and almost impossible to watch. I had been using DVD Decrypter for a long time and never had any problems, then suddenly I was getting this same error there, so I switched to ImgBurn and the same thing is happening. I am using the same DVD media and DVD writing drive the whole time I have been burning movies, so I am pretty confident that a problem isn't occuring with either of those things. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have some movies waiting to burn and I'm gonna get backed up if I don't get this resolved soon. I 10:35:59 ImgBurn Version 1.1.0.0 started! Brian002100 Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 I just checked a DVD that I burned a few days before the I was getting the error, and it too was extremely choppy. What is going wrong here?
digidragon Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Maybe you could check that the drive hasn't recently dropped into PIO mode, instead of DMA mode.
Brian002100 Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 Please explain what PIO mode and DMA mode are and where I can check them. I don't have a lot of hardware knowledge, so I'm sure if would take me much more work to research what these are then for you to just explain them to me.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Update your drives firmware with the PDS7 version. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1965
digidragon Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Please explain what PIO mode and DMA mode are and where I can check them. Have a look at the FAQ: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=59
Brian002100 Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 It appears that installing that new driver changed it back to DMA mode. Thanks for the help guys. I will try burning a DVD tonight.
Brian002100 Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Its working again! Thanks for the help!
lfcrule1972 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Thanks for letting us know you fixed it
