sheri Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, sheri! Can you post a log of that attempt? It will also show us what model of burner you have. I 17:05:21 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 17:05:21 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (6.0, Build 6000) I 17:05:21 Total Physical Memory: 1,037,824 KB - Available: 414,592 KB I 17:05:22 Initialising SPTI... I 17:05:22 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 17:05:22 Found 1 DVD
Cynthia Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 New burner? It was released in 2004 and I can't seem to find any later firmware version than you already have installed. Your only chance seems to find media that this burner supports or replace it will a new one.
sheri Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 wow so that means this was used burner thats great i just got rip off well anyways so how will i find a different media
sheri Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 so that is whats going on with the write speed thats what it means
blutach Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I 17:10:09 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) See if changing to decent media will do the trick - eg Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. What you are using now is pure crap. Regards

Regards i'am sorry i just seen what you put i'am sorry i have no clue about all this what should i change
Cynthia Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Your issue right now is this: I 17:10:09 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) It should say something like this: I 18:28:35 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) (Speeds: 4x, 8x, 12x) In your log the part about the speeds is missing, meaning that your burner with current firmware version installed do not like/support that disc id. Instead it tries to use a generic write approach that doesn't work as you are getting burning errors.
sheri Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 lol now i understand i need to get better dvd's right i just paid 156.00 for that dvd burner and was told it was new and now here to find out it is pure crap what should i do
Cynthia Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Hope it was not 156.00 €... Try with some Verbatims at 4x or 8x write speed.

Cynthia Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 You should be able to find them in any decent computer shop.

spinningwheel Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Sheri; Best Buy, Staples are both good for their pricing if you need to go to a brick and mortar storefront however I prefer to beat their prices by going here: www.Meritline.com www.newegg.com www.tigerdirect.com Same for media, I get all of mine through Meritline and haven't had a problem with quality.
