New burner? It was released in 2004 and I can't seem to find any later firmware version than you already have installed.

Your only chance seems to find media that this burner supports or replace it will a new one.

I 17:10:09 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3)

See if changing to decent media will do the trick - eg Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

What you are using now is pure crap.

Your issue right now is this:

I 17:10:09 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3)

It should say something like this:

I 18:28:35 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) (Speeds: 4x, 8x, 12x)

In your log the part about the speeds is missing, meaning that your burner with current firmware version installed do not like/support that disc id. Instead it tries to use a generic write approach that doesn't work as you are getting burning errors.

Sheri;

Best Buy, Staples are both good for their pricing if you need to go to a brick and mortar storefront however I prefer to beat their prices by going here:

www.Meritline.com

www.newegg.com

www.tigerdirect.com

Same for media, I get all of mine through Meritline and haven't had a problem with quality.
