I created 9 BD-Rs with my own HD videos. 7 of 9 are showing the WRONG book type 'BD-ROM', 2 of 9 are showing the correct book type BD-R. (LBA: 0) -> Track 01 (Mode 1, LBA: 0 - 9904607) -> LeadOut (LBA: 9904608) BD Disc Information: Disc ID: VERBAT-IMa-00 Disc Type: BD-R ********************* My Samsung BlueRay Player rejects the disks with the wrong book type BD-ROM, but plays the disks with the correct book type BD-R. LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 12, 2009 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Because BD-RE are always writable - BD-R obviously aren't! I don't get your point with the DVDInfoPro stuff. My disc info is layed out exactly as returned by the drive so you can see exactly which command / fields are returning what data. There's no trickery going on behind the scenes. As explained by you, a recorded BD-R with the status 'complete' may be considered a 'BD-ROM'. A true BD-ROM is always mass-produced by a press. My Samsung BlueRay SAP recognized a completed BD-R as BD-ROM, but is expecting a mass-produced one, which may differ with respect to its reflection. Therefore the SAP is rejecting such a disk as 'wrong media'. A BD-R, which is recorded as the 1st session of a mult-session disk, shows as status 'incomplete' and is therefore not considered to be a 'BD-ROM', but still a BD-R. This disk is accepted by my Samsung SAP. As a result, I have to use Nero to burn a BD-R (in multi-session mode) for my SAP, but can still use ImgBurn for recording on BD-REs, which are never wrongly detected as BD-Rom. The disc info still clearly states it's BD-R. BD Disc Information:Disc ID: VERBAT-IMa-00 Disc Type: BD-R If your samsung thing needs a multisession BD-R then it's...erm... shit.
