Hi and welcome to the forum, champdota!

 

The first device is a DVD reader and what the second one is something not known by Windows.

 

Can you check in Windows Device Manager what is listed under DVD/CD-ROM drivers? (Control panel ->System -> Device Manager)

You need a DVD burner in order to burn DVDs, and the drive you have is a CD burner and DVD reader, also known as a combo drive.

horray i got my desktop working with windows 7, it turned out that i burned the iso image properley on my desktop beofre i formated it... thank god.
