Hi Guys -- I am new to the DL DVD world. I have a DL DVD drive and a pack of DVD + R DL disks. I have a video capture file in mpg format. I want to get it on a DL DVD. After that I am lost. I am trying to find a program that will take the mpg and covert to the file needed and then burn on the DVD + R DL that I am using so it will play on your household DVD. Is Imgburn what I want?

Thanks,

Try DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD. If the video you have isn't very long maybe there's no need to use dual-layer discs :)

I do need a dual layer. I have tried it on the 4.7 G and it won't fit. Will the programs you name take care of a dual layer?

Your file needs to be converted before burning to DVD, or else it wouldn't play on any DVD player. Those programs can do that, but I've heard DVD Flick isn't good for dual layer media.

Does Imgburn not do what I want? Will CovertX be what I need? What does Imgburn do?

As you see, I have alot of questions on this.

Thanks,

Yes, I know about the link and have read it. That is why I am here. I am trying to find out if imgburn will take a mpg file and do the coverting etc so that it can be burned to a DL DVD. Will it do that? Thanks,

Use DVD Flick to convert it to DVD compliant files. Then burn those files with ImgBurn on a +R DL disc.

NO, it doesn't convert anything.

YES, once you use a program, such as one of those suggested here, to convert it to burnable form.

Get DVDFlick...Start it...Point it at your file...Start it...

When it has done its' thing...close DVDFlick...Start ImgBurn...Drag over the file Flick created...push the Burn button...Verify the burn...voila...done deal.

If there is a problem, post the log along with your question(s).

Thank you Cynthia and Spinningwheel. I think you put me on the right path.
