dvd player wont read burned discs

Hi,

I'm new to this site and IMgbrn

But I have been having difficulties trying to back up copies of dvds.

I did everything by the tutorial with DvdFAb, DVD Shrink and Imgbrn.

However the disc will not play in my dvd player. It will play in my computer though.

The disc read error is regarding to "playback" and not having it, or something like that.(Not at home to

give you exact error code) Could you help me figure this out before I go bonkers?

If you are referring to "Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks "

Then no, because I haven't seen that media available in my area.

And as for the part about the "Sempahore Timed out"

I don't understand what it is that you want me to do with that?

I clicked the link, and read but I don't know otherwise what to do?

I 22:07:58 Destination Device: [1:0:0] PHILIPS DVD+-RW DVD8701 5D24 (D:) (ATA)

Is that burner on a Dell computer? If so, there's firmware DD26 available for it. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished. Also try burning at 8x or 12x instead of MAX.

I 22:07:58 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: SONY-D21-00) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 8x, 12x, 16x)
I 22:07:58 Write Speed: MAX
I 00:03:28 Average Write Rate: 2,582 KB/s (1.9x) - Maximum Write Rate: 2,939 KB/s (2.1x)

Check if you have DMA enabled. The write rate is not looking ok.

Thank you I will try both options, the driver and the device manager and see if they work.

If not I'm sure I will let you know. ha ha :)

Yes. That is normal. Let it continue. That way you know that the disc is ok.

Okay I got worried there for a moment that I didn't catch it in time and was afraid it was ruined. Ha.

I also have the eject disc box checked, after it verfys the sectors, (should) it then eject the disc or is there more to it?

(yeah I am so a newbie to this program)

Something is still not right. Sure you did the DMA fix?

I couldn't find the DMA checkbox to check/uncheck whichever it was.

And I did download the firmware and ran it, but nothing happened.

Here is a more detailed guide.

okay well i followed the instructions my transfer mode was already set to DMA if available but I tried clicking it again and pressing okay and going back to see if the the current transfer mode had changed from "POI" to either of the options listed in the tutorial and it did not change. It stayed "POI"
