I've seen that thread - just wanted to see if someone buy could spot any other issues before I go new discs. Is this i/o write error commonly assosiated with discs?

Also maybe I'm retarded but is Ritek a brand name? My dvd+r dl are sony.

RITEK-D01-01 is the dye used to manufacture the disc you have. You don't need to manually set the layerbreak in ImgBurn's settings, as the .dvd file already tells ImgBurn where to place the layerbreak.

I 16:30:32 Destination Device: [0:0:0] HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-E60L 1.00 (F:) (USB)

I 16:30:32 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MKM-003-00) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 10x)

Try the other available speeds. You might also want to try with Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) DVD+R DL blanks. If it still doesn't work then the drive is defective and should be replaced.
