Josh299 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 So i have been making copies of my backup games for my wii and came accross a problem tonight. I am using verbatim dvd-r and i use imgburn. When i make a bakup i read it to my computer and store it on my external hard drive, than i open the hard drive up and click open with imgburn. than once it opens i click the button that starts the write process. It either says "Cannot creat write parameters" or not enough room on disk it says the file is 4,589mb and i have 4,588 available. I beleive that those were the correct numbers. Let me know. the weird thing is that i just made a copy of this game and it worked fine and i went to make a copy of another game and it wouldn't work. Let me know if you have some help i have one burner which is a hp dvd1040i and my external burner is a memorex 3202 3223 i tried a different usb port and same thing here is the log from the burn I 19:25:45 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 19:25:45 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 19:25:45 Total Physical Memory: 490,992 KB - Available: 180,052 KB I 19:25:45 Initialising SPTI... I 19:25:45 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 19:25:59 Found 2 DVD
spinningwheel Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Source File Sectors: 2,294,912 Destination Media Sectors: 2,297,888 I don't do games, but you can't put 7lbs of crap into a 5 lb bag anywhere that I know of. Have you tried a Verb DL disc?
Josh299 Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 are verb dl disk a different verbatim disk. the disk that i was using were working just fine. I don't really no what happened all of a sudden it started saying cannot create write parameters
Cynthia Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Source File Sectors: 2,294,912 Destination Media Sectors: 2,297,888 Not sure I follow you. If source sectors are less than destination sectors then it should be ok. E 19:26:36 Failed to set Write Parameters! This seems to be your problem. If you burn with your other burner - same issue? Latest chipset drivers installed for the motherboard? If you burn with your USB writer on another computer - same issue?
Josh299 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 both burners i have do the same thing. I haven't tried them on another computer. where can i go and get a update for the driver?
Cynthia Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Check the web page of your mother boards manufactures for drivers.
mmalves Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Or use SIW/Sandra/etc to find out which chipset you have and download the latest drivers from the chipset manufacturer's website.
Josh299 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 I just don't get how it worked fine that one day and now all of a sudden it don't work at all. It seems really weird to me
mmalves Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Also please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu).

Uninstall Ner0 InCD and they should be removed.
Josh299 Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 I can't find a nero InCD should i completly uninstall nero or do you know where i can find the file at
mmalves Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Look in Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs. If it isn't there then uninstall the whole Ner0 suite. After uninstalling and rebooting, you might also want to check again the Filter Driver Load Order to ensure they were removed, as Ner0 isn't known for having the best uninstaller system
Cynthia Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 There is a program on the Nero web page that can uninstall just certain components like the InCD function. http://www.nero.com/eng/tools-utilities.html#tab5
Josh299 Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 I uninstalled nero and here is the filterload again =============================================== Filter Driver Load Order - ImgBurn v2.4.2.0 =============================================== Upper Device Filter: redbook Upper Class Filter: [None Found] Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: [None Found] Lower Device Filter: imapi Filter Name: redbook File Name: C:\WINDOWS\System32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys File Version: 5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) File Description: Redbook Audio Filter Driver Product Name: Microsoft
