Any help ? Thanks
mmalves Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Sounds like a hardware problem. Check the CPU temperature to see if it's in the good range. Also check the BIOS for a "shutdown on overheat" setting and see if it isn't set to a low value. You might also want to monitor/test your power supply (SpeedFan comes to mind).

LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Maybe it's a driver issue then. Use the Filter driver feature in the tools menu to see which ones are running on your PC (copy + paste the info for us). Actually shutting down the PC is pretty severe!

THe pc just stops.no blue screen, like if it was powered off without doing it via the shutdown menu
Cynthia Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Might wanna activate the 'blue screen' to see what causes it - driver or something. In the part that starts with this Read The Signs If the blue screen persist, you may wish to tackle the problem directly by reading the error message. On Windows XP when a stop error occurs, the system will reboot itself. To fully study this error message, you have to disable your computer from auto restarting when this happens. You can read how to change the settings. http://www.datarecovery.com.sg/data_recove...blue_screen.htm
daemqn Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) hi, ok, its been a while. I gave up because I was so bored of this Now I reinstalled my pc under seven 64 bits french, and have the same issue. I have got no blue screen. I deactivated the automatic reboot. I have closed all resident in the tray. It worked for some burn after I reinstalled on 7 so I thought it was fixed. My hardware is the same. Very stable, no hangs up or blue screen even if Im playing Modern Warfare 2 @1360*768 max details I have only this when burning with imgburn. My dvd writer seems to work fine while playing music. But I think the problem comes from it I've got the latest imgburn version Edited February 5, 2010 by daemqn
Cynthia Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 I have only this when burning with imgburn. Not sure I understand you. You have tried with other burning programs? Is there anything in the windows log?

Is there anything in the windows log? Sorry I meant : I only have this issue (computer shutting down) while burning a DVD (DL or SL) I dont use any other burning program because imgburn is very light and has always been very stable. (except on this PC) I've seen nothing on the windows log system (applications or system) It just log the restart. My motherboard / processor has no shutdown temperature Edited February 6, 2010 by daemqn
Cynthia Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Could be an underpowered power unit. Had that issue ages ago with to many optical drives installed. Seems it uses more power when you actually use the drive than when it's idle and then it gave me a blue screen.
