Having a real hard time burning Verbatim DVD+R DL

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I just got some Verbatim discs but still can not burn anything. I keep getting I/O errors and now it says my file have no layer breaks (which is a new error). So here is the log from my latest attempt and burning. Also, I should add my writer still can burn DVD+R (I just burned one)

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forum, shabon! :)

The first issue with the missing layer break

http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6376

There is also a later firmware for that writer

The lowest speed you can burn those discs with that writer is 4x.

(Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x)

The issue might still be that your writer is to old for this new media. Verbatim 2.4x rated discs might work better.

Thanks for the updates,

I 22:09:31 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MKM-003-00) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x)

Have you tried 6x and 8x?

Yes I've tried 1x 2x 2.4x 4x 6x and 8x, and I still get the same result. I'm going to pick up some older Verbatim 2.4x and see how that goes. If anyone has anymore suggestions please let me have them. Thanks.
