Hi,

I got a new dell e4300, and one of the first things I wanted to do was to setup a dual ubuntu boot disk. I have been using imageburn for years, so I was surprised the latest version didn't recognize my writer. I get:

I 14:36:40 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!

I 14:36:40 Microsoft Windows Vista Business Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1)

I 14:36:40 Total Physical Memory: 3,619,832 KB - Available: 2,652,592 KB

I 14:36:40 Initialising SPTI...

I 14:36:40 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

I 14:36:40 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 BD-ROM/HD DVD-ROM!

My Device Manager reports:

DVD/CD-ROM drives:

GBG CL6F0HEF4 SCSI CdRom Device

HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM DU10N

Are none of these writers? Did I screw up in my Dell order?

Thanks,

Jam

They don't look like writers to me.

That fact that is actually says 'DVD-ROM' in the device name gives it away a bit.

The other one with the random name is a virtual drive.
