Cynthia
I 23:31:19 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RICOHJPN-D01-67) That media is not supported by the firmware (writer). There is a 2.17 version of the firmware. It might support that media. http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/NEC-ND-3500A/ If you still get problems, you either need to get another brand of media or a new burner. LIGHTNING UK!
Surely 2.1B is newer? http://www.firmwarehq.com/NEC/ND-3500/files.html

Steve100
True. Thanks for info. I re flashed the drive with 2.1B and it seems to have cured the problem. The make of media seems very critical as a Fuji +r DL burnt and verified fine and works in my dvd player, another cheaper disk burnt ok but failed being verified, so lesson learnt is use decent disks :-) One other thing is when I play it on my PC it shows down the right side of the screen the chapters but it also shows 3 titles, what am I doing wrong Thanks
