waveracer Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Hi I have converted a file to a vts. vob file (image?) and I cant get it to play on my dvd player. It will play on my computer if I open the dvd and pick it. I have tried different ways about 4 discs and this last time there is an image on the dvd that says 27_dresses (the movie I want) but when I put it in the computer I have to open the image to play it and when I put it in the dvd player it say "No Play" I have a panasonic dvd-s100 dvd player that is supposed to be able to play most files like divx and wma but it wont play any of the discs I made. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help I can get. Also can I use this program to convert wma files to play on my dvd? I am using super right now. Thanks again
Cynthia Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, waveracer! A .vob file is part of a DVD compliant structure (.vob/.ifo/.bup) that is usually in a VIDEO_TS folder. So to just have a .vob file on the burned disc doesn't sound right. The question is in what format you converted it. It might be that your stand alone player needs the right extension to be able to play it.
waveracer Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 that makes sense, wha it says in properties is vts_01_0.vob and is says vob file dvd video and it plays on my computer when I click on it but thats it when I converted it with super I picked to convert a wmv file to a dvd std compliant (vob) but I just found another option that says automode vcd svcd dvd . do you think that could be my mistake? Cynthia Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 vcd is for CD's if I'm not wrong. vts_01_0.vob is a menu video part. Don't you have any .ifo/.bup files from that conversion?
waveracer Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 I think so I am trying the other mode right now to see if that was my mistake, will advise Thanks for your patience vcd is for CD's if I'm not wrong. vts_01_0.vob is a menu video part.
