DSquare Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Okay kind of long but I've had this same problem for a long time now. The only fix so far is to do a complete clean install of Vista and my problems go away for around 6 months. All the while I have upgraded mb, cpu, and ram but the problem still creeps up. After about 6 months of everything working great I will start getting crc errors in my encodes using CCE. At the same time these crc errors start popping up I get the Miscompare at LBA errors during the verify process. When I first started getting these errors I did all the normal things like run memtest, chk the hdds, perform defrags, uninstall anydvd, anything I could do. This time when it started I just got back from a week vacation and nothing was changed on my pc. The day I left I did a encode and a burn just fine. I get back and right away while CCE is doing an encode I get the crc error. After I managed to get through an entire encode without a crc error I goto burn and all goes well till it does the verify. Strange thing is the Miscompare at LBA's happen in different spots if I reverify the burn. Below is a paste from the log: I 17:26:07 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 17:26:07 Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate x64 Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1) I 17:26:07 Total Physical Memory: 6,289,780 KB - Available: 4,477,584 KB W 17:26:07 AnyDVD can interfere with ImgBurn's ability to verify accurately, please ensure it's disabled! LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Do some discovery mode burns and see if it still happens. That one will rule out your hdd because it all comes from memory.
DSquare Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 Well I did Discovery Burns and not a single problem. Below is the log from that burn: 18:43:35 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Have you tried new cables? Might be worth doing memtest+ again for a few passes. Maybe try one of those cpu stress tests (orthos is it?) too.
DSquare Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 Well since I had similar problems in the past I figured it was something software related causing my problems. In the past (with my old setup) I ran test after test and nothing failed. Anyhow I decided what the heck and ran memtest+ and was planning on running it all night long. I started with the new 3.5 version of memtest and it would only get to 7% on the first test and completely crash and lock up the program. I then tried 3.4a and bam, with in 5 seconds I had like over 100 errors. I was like dang. I started taking sticks out to determine which stick was faulty. I narrowed it down to the faulty stick and have a rma process started through Crucial.
