Imgburn Error

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and DVD Flick but not new to burning dvds/cds. I have attached screen shots so you can see what my problem is. I'm using my HP Pavilion dv2040us laptop to burn an avi file. I have Verbatim DVD+R as my media type. I have tried twice and get the same error. I tested some smaller files to burn on a CD-R and the burn went fine. So I'm at a loss of what's causing this. Can anyone help? If you need more information I'll be happy to provide it.

O/S is WinXP Home (fully updated) - 2 gb of ram - 320 hard drive - DVD drive is a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850S

Thanks in advance.

Wyman

I 03:05:06 Writing Track 1 of 1... (MODE1/2048, LBA: 0 - 2184255)

W 03:06:35 Failed to Write Sectors 135872 - 135903 - Reason: Internal Target Failure

I 09:07:22 Average Write Rate: 12 KB/s (0.0x) - Maximum Write Rate: 3,411 KB/s (2.5x)
I 03:04:52 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: MCC-004-00) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x)

I 03:04:52 Destination Media Sectors: 2,295,104

I 03:04:52 Write Mode: DVD

I 03:04:52 Write Type: DAO

I 03:04:52 Write Speed: 4x

The speed when the failure happens early in the writing might be that it is just 2.5x, even if I think it should have catched up faster speed at that time.

You could see if DMA is still enabled as described in the FAQ.

Try also 6x or 8x speed.

If that doesn't help. It might be that the burner is on it's way to dye. You could try to use a cleaning disc.

Hi again Cynthia,

I have attached a screen shot that show DMA is enabled.

Also, how can I select 6x or 8x if ImgBurn automatically opens after DVD Flick finishes the encoding? I don't think it gives me an option.

Thanks,

Wyman

Windows will incorrectly report the mode because there is a bug in their programming that they are aware of and haven't yet fixed. If you're still burning slow, follow the directions in the FAQ and delete the controllers and let Windows reinstall them on the next boot up to get back to the highest DMA from PIO.
