OK, so the only discs I have are Maxwell DVD-R, that I just spent 10 bucks on yesterday.

ImgBurn wouldn't read it, so I put in some other burnt discs, and it said that they read it (Verbatim, Memorex, Imation), too bad they weren't rewritable.

Anyway, is there anything I can DL to get/help it to read the discs, since I don't have 10 bucks to spare, and I haven't exactly had luck finding Verbatim discs as well.

Hi and welcome to the forum, jesus! :)

Have you checked that you have the latest firmware for that burner installed? Sometimes that can help to solve such an issue.

You could post a previous burning log, that would give us some more info about your burner.

What are you hoping to read from the blank Maxell discs you just purchased?

If he can turn water into wine, then nothing is impossible. <_<

I'm hoping to burn an ISO onto the disc.

This is all I have on the Log:

I 15:03:44 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!

I 15:03:44 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3)

I 15:03:44 Total Physical Memory: 514,160 KB - Available: 143,824 KB

I 15:03:44 Initialising SPTI...

I 15:03:44 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

I 15:03:44 Found 1 DVD-ROM/CD-RW!

The last one throws me off, because it recognizes that I have a DVD-Rom in the drive.

And how would I go about getting the latest firmware?

Sounds to me as a DVD reader + CD writer. Sure you have been able to burn DVDs with this one?

Never tried admittedly.

However, it won't acknowledge the disc at all besides the log. It acknowledges other discs however (and failed to on another full disc). So that tells me I could...

But even then, wouldn't the button still be enabled so I could attempt to write it?

Enter read mode (Ctrl + Alt + R) and then select this

Tools -> Drive -> Capabilities

Is there a check mark for DVD+R or/and DVD-R under write capabilities?
