phrozenimpact Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) This is so frustrating. I've wasted so many discs trying different solutions, but I finally came here to try and get some help. It's one of the most peculiar things - ImgBurn ALWAYS gives me write errors at 56% sharp. I watched it myself once, and I noticed that the burn speed stayed at a constant 2.5x until 56%, at which point it dropped down to 0.0x and gave me the write errors. Also, I HAVE tried different images. One of my logs: I 10:37:51 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!I 10:37:51 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 10:37:51 Total Physical Memory: 3,144,172 KB - Available: 2,660,480 KB I 10:37:51 Initialising SPTI... LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Try cleaning your drive. If that doesn't work, invest in a new one. Basically, if a drive can't make a decent burn on the best DL media money can buy (which is the one you've got there - Verbatim DVD+R DL, 2.4x speed, MKM-001-00 dye, made in Singapore), it's not worth keeping.
mmalves Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I 10:38:04 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: MKM-001-00) (Speeds: 2.4x)I 10:38:04 Destination Media Sectors: 16,384,000 This is very wrong. Has it ever worked before? With dual-layer media?

Has it ever worked before? With dual-layer media? That seems really weird.. It had worked before a few times, mostly with CloneCD. ImgBurn worked once or twice, I believe. Anyway, thanks to LIGHTNING's suggestion, I grabbed a new burner (the Pioneer DVR 116D) for about $40 today, and I've had 10 for 10 successful burns! Big thanks to all of you support people and devs of ImgBurn!
