LIGHTNING UK!
Just load up regedit and search for 'tdcmdpst'. It'll be in a filter lists *somewhere* !

Cynthia
Might help if you start Windows in Safe mode and then delete the string in the Windows registry. If that doesn't help - I would uninstall the burner in Windows and then restart the computer to see if it goes away that way.
LIGHTNING UK!
Is that the only place it finds it? (ignoring that same key but in ControlSet001, 002 etc)

casketizer
AFAIK the HL-DT-ST GSA-T*** drives are OEM drives for Laptops that don't support booktyping. I have a GSA-T30L and it doesn't support it either and I tried everything. Those drives have other oddities, like no support for lower than MAX read speeds. It seems that HP (, Dell and other Laptop brands) wanted a drive that supports only the stuff that the software that ships with those Laptops (power2go) supports, to reduce support calls. When I asked them for a firmware upgrade because most modern 16x media are only burned at 2.4x, I was asked if i was actually burning with that crappy power2go coz otherwise there would be no support, and of course there is no newer firmware....
