thehands816 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I have never had these problems in the past with DVD Shrink and Img Burn, but suddenly I am getting very slow write rates (average of less than 1x) and I keep getting errors and the burn process won't finish. mmalves Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Follow what this post of the FAQ says (removing controllers/etc) and the speeds should go back to normal. You might also want to burn at 4x instead of MAX.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 In the 'Write Speed' box down the bottom right of the screen.
thehands816 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 I looked into the DMA thing, and here's what I found: Here is the Primary Here is the Secondary Is this what it should be? If not, how do I fix it?
Cynthia Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Have you followed post #2 and then restarted Windows?
thehands816 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 So, do I just uninstall the highlighted part of this and then reboot and my computer will automatically re-install it and it will be in DMA mode?
thehands816 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 OK, I did that, and now it's all in DMA mode, so I'm working on creating an ISO and burning with Img Burn...we'll see how it goes.
thehands816 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 OK, I got another error message. Here it is. Now what do I do?

thehands816 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 Is it possible that the problem is with the discs I am using? Everything was working fine before with a different kind of dvd-r. Then I got these new ones (Sony) and now I'm having all these problems.
Cynthia Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Very possible that the burner doesn't like those discs. The Command Sequence Error can mean that. Did you try another speed than the 8x, as mmalves suggested?
thehands816 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 I changed from Max to 8x, but I haven't tried any other speed. As it is, it's taking hours for this process to work, so I don't understand what the problem is and I'm trying to get it to go faster, not slower, and without any errors.
thehands816 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 Just tried again using a different kind of disc, and everything went flawlessly. I think my drive is an 8x max drive, and when I use 8x discs, everything seems to work, but the Sonys I was having trouble with are rated up to 16x. Do I need to try to stick to 8x discs or will other brand 16x discs maybe work?
