Cynthia Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, EllenMac10! This is your problem W 01:19:49 Reason: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format I 01:19:45 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 2.4x) Your burner doesn't like the brand of discs. Try with Verbatim 2,4x rated discs as they seems to be most compliant with burners.
EllenMac10 Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 So I bought those and the Cannot Write Medium error disappeared but I just got more ;_; Now its giving me Power Calibration Error I 12:05:24 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 12:05:24 Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (6.0, Build 6000) I 12:05:24 Total Physical Memory: 3,143,092 KB - Available: 1,082,268 KB I 12:05:25 Initialising SPTI... I 12:05:25 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 12:05:25 Found 1 DVD
mmalves Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Memorex-CD-DVD-Playe...r/dp/B00008EM7U You should be able to find this in shops near you.
Cynthia Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 You could also try with a topz (or what they are called in English) + 100% alcohol.
EllenMac10 Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 It can burn music and such in that drive just not DVDs. Is that a different part or something?
mmalves Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Technically, DVD writing is a lot more difficult than CD wrtiting, so that's why you start getting errors burning DVDs. Also, on a laptop drive the lens are more exposed, therefore more likely to get dirty easily.
