Monkeyulize Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 So when I try to burn an ISO I get the following error: W 07:28:56 Failed to Write Sectors 320 - 351 - Reason: Unknown (0x7F, 0x00) The full log is here I 07:27:23 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!I 07:27:23 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3)I 07:27:23 Total Physical Memory: 2,095,532 KB - Available: 1,142,276 KBI 07:27:23 Initialising SPTI...I 07:27:23 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 07:27:29 Found 1 DVD
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Slow your burn down to 4x and see if that makes a difference.
Monkeyulize Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) Alright, will do. Also, after this happens my burner won't open, I have to restart to get it to "unfreeze" itself. I don't know if that helps... Edited March 25, 2009 by Monkeyulize
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Is your drive attached to an NVIDIA controller?
Monkeyulize Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) Yes, I'm on a 750i board. Would it help if I used an IDE drive? I'm using Sata atm. Edited March 25, 2009 by Monkeyulize
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 It wouldn't hurt. Optical drives don't like SATA controllers a great deal. I'd still slow it down and see what happens before pulling your machine apart and throwing your drive onto the IDE controller.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 The nvidia drivers return bogus error codes when ImgBurn is set to use SPTI for the I/O interface (which is the default one). Grab Nero's WNASPI32.DLL file and put it in the folder with ImgBurn's EXE. Then switch the I/O interface to ASPI. Hopefully you'll be ok then. (I have worked around the problem ready for the v2.4.3.0 release) That said, do you have the latest nForce drivers installed? I remember seeing some new ones a few weeks back.

Monkeyulize Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 Well it appears to be working! I upgraded the firmware and replaced that DLL. Thanks guys, you've been a great help!
