Hi, I'm new to this forum so please excuse me if i say something stupid.

Anyway i keep getting the focus servo error when I try to write a file to a disc.

 

My drive info:

DVD+RW RW5125 1.27 (ATA)

Current Profile: DVD+R

My drive is about 5 years old but i burned a dvd last month w/o any problems.

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated

See if this firmware update works. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished. Anyway you really should get a new burner, yours is ancient :blink:

i know that this might sound stupid, but how do i actually update my drive?

I downloaded it...but cant figure out any way to update it.

i tried changing the write speed but still the same problems.
