Odd behaviour

Hello,

I did an extensive search to try and find my problem without success, but I may have searched in all the wrong places knowing my luck.

I've been using ImgBurn for some time now, and never had any problems however, it appears that there may be a problem verifying the discs, as they all stop at 75 - 76%.

The discs can be read on the PC that my son uses, and on my MacBook, but not on the PC that burns them.

I have attached the log for the last two discs, and checked the images that show up as the fault, which are fine.

I am backing up the original Nikon NEF (RAW) files from my Camera and each file is 10 - 12Mb per image

I 21:04:39 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!

I 21:04:39 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3)

I 21:04:39 Total Physical Memory: 1,048,048 KB - Available: 489,684 KB

I 21:04:39 Initialising SPTI...

I 21:04:39 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

I 21:04:39 Found 1 CD-ROM and 1 DVD

Hi and welcome to the forum, ConkersM9! :)

There is a later firmware version for that burner. It might give you better burning result with those discs.

http://www.firmwarehq.com/Sony/AW-G170A/files.html

You also selected 16x write speed (MAX) but the speed was not great.

I 22:07:12 Average Write Rate: 2,856 KB/s (2.1x) - Maximum Write Rate: 3,131 KB/s (2.3x)

Might wanna check if DMA is enabled.

Thanks for your prompt reply, I upgraded the Firmware and changed the settings.

I did a search on Tevion discs. They don't seem particularly popular with your members, and I'm beginning to wonder if the latest batch of DVDs I bought may be the fault?

Once again, many thanks.

Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3)

They certainly wouldn't be helping you. CMC Magnetics media is garbage. Using Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden will fix your read error problem.
