Is it me, drive, or media quality?

I am using lower quality DVD's because I did not read forum before buying and opening. My firmware appears to be updated from the link provided in this forum. I also have never tried burning an image before so maybe I am simply doing something wrong. Here is my log. Any suggestions before I start tracking down and buying new media?

You should at least give Verbatims a go before writing the drive off.
