It's not your drive stalling on that I doubt so you probably have a dodgy filter driver or 3rd party app that's screwing things up.

So what do you suggest I do? Can you suggest any programs that would remove the 3rd party apps? I am unable to do anything involving burning/reading from cds or dvds at the time so any help is appreciated.

Disable the drive in device manager and then load ImgBurn again.

 

You can get at the filter driver info via the option in ImgBurn's 'Tools' menu.

Ok so it is not getting stuck on the "Searching for Devices" part anymore. Now I'm trying to create an ISO image and it's getting stuck on the "Logical Unit is in the process of becoming ready" part. Any other suggestions? Your help is very much appreciated.

So you have 2 drives?

 

I'd assumed that once that one had been disabled, ImgBurn would just show 'No devices detected!'.

 

In any case, if the drive is taking ages to become ready it's probably because it can't read the disc you've put in it. What type of disc are you trying to read/write? Post the new log too please (along with the filter driver stuff).

What type of disc do you have in the drive?

 

The drive should only report it's in progress of becoming ready for a matter of seconds just after you insert the disc whilst it initialises it.

 

If it's saying on for ages, eject the disc again because it must be having trouble reading it. When you do that, does the message change back to 'Medium Not Present' ?
