TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633L 0400 (re-badged Samsung)

I have an HP Pavilion tx2510us laptop with a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633L 0400 burner... So far have been unable to book-type (was thinking maybe burner was not recognized by older version of the software 2.4.2.0, but having same problem after updating to 2.4.3.0 & now 2.4.4.0.

According to firmware update searches, this is actually a Samsung TS-L633L. I have tried to go into advanced settings an enter the drive as a "re-badged" Samsung so I can book-type, but no matter what I enter, I get the error:

UNKNOWN (FAILED!)

Reason: Incorrect function.

I've tried entering the drive with and without the "400" at the end, without the TSSTcorp, without the CDDVDW, etc.. nothing seems to work...

Looking for any kind of help you can give (and yes, I have read through the guides)

Do you know which chipset your laptop uses? You can use SIW to find out (it's shown in Hardware -> Motherboard).

That error is from the Windows API rather than the drive - so I guess one of your drivers is blocking the command.

You don't need to touch any of the Drive OEM stuff, anything with 'TSSTcorp' is handled internally.
