Hi everyone,

I bought the pioneer 216dbk drive last month. At firstly, I use memorex disc for buring. However, I tried 10 pics, and none of them was successful. 100% lost!!!

So I bought the verbatim discs (MKM-001-00, Write Speed: 2.4x) to replace the memorex.

At beginning, I successfully burn 5 pics. But recently, when I try to burn the 6th one, it became worse. Now, the successful ratio for verbatim is 50%.

Previously, I used 2.4X for burn, now I use 4X for burn. But it seems no useful.

Now, when I want to burn a game, the first time always failed. And then I put the second disc into the drive and have another try, it never failed.

the log is listed as following:

=====================================================================first try

I 13:09:42 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started!

I 13:09:42 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3)

It's made in Singapore.

Do you think there are some problems on my dvd drive?

My drive just passed the 30-day free return warranty, although I just used it for several times.

I will try to contact with the customer service of newegg to ask for replacement.

Where are the Verbatims made? India, Singapore?

If it won't even burn to those with any sort of reliability, send your drive back as faulty.
