Finalise Disc Failed! - Reason: ID CRC or ECC Error

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

i'm using a macbook running windows xp (native through bootcamp) with matshita UJ-857D writer. i'm attempting to burn verbatim dvd+r dl 2.4x discs (singapore manufactured).

the first attempt i tried 2.4x and it got all the way to the end then threw up a disc finalisation error, and the verify process then failed on the first track and the resulting disc appears to have no data on it at all.

so i tried again at 2.0x and the result is the same...

can anybody please advise what else i could try? thankyou

well i checked my amazon order and i did mistakenly order 8x :( i really thought i selected the 2.4x but i must have made a mistake with having all the products open in different tabs! oops

anyway i thought rather than waste

Did you have verify enabled when you burned that disc? Could you post the full log from that burn session? I'm asking these because sometimes that error is reported but the drive was able to use the correct layerbreak from the .dvd file.
