  1. Ok LUK, it'll be me I will buy one, set it up one of my PC's with PC anywhere, and let you have at it. Supporting this device will be a HUGE accomplishment for imgburn, as it could elimiate the need for a $1000-$2000+ duplicator **UPDATE 8/2/07 - Ok, I bought the unit and should receive and set it up tommorrow, 8/3/07. Will report when myself and LUK have things in order***
  2. I have a suggestion. If you want to copy a number of discs in a row, why not have a queue where you can name the output images, then when you start the queue, the disc tray pops out, copies the disc, and ejects the tray when done for the next disc? Kind of like how the queue is used to burn multiple disc images, but in the example above, the reverse.
  3. does that mean in the next version of imgburn, the image will burn properly?
  4. how would i send the first 5mb of a 4gb file?
  5. I have an MF Baxter DVD/CD automated duplicator. This device saves DVD images in .img format. For whatever reason, I can load up the resulting .img files into ImgBurn but the resulting disc is unreadable. The only program that seems to open or burn these is MagicISO. MagicISO also can convert these to .ISO but unfortunately, MagicISO doesn't have a batch convert option to convert multiple images to multiple ISO's. By the way, I am using XP, not a MAC and the images are not corrupt. I have already tried mounting the .img files with daemon tools and alcohol 120% but no luck.
  6. I have a mf baxter dvd duplicator (for the record, these are not Mac .img files) and when I set it to duplicate one or multiple DVD discs to my PC, it saves them with a .img extension. I tried burning this with imgburn (imgburn opens and burns them, but the resulting disc is unreadable), alcohol, nero, cloneCD, but the only program that can open/burn these .img files is magiciso. But I would like to be able to burn .img files with Imgburn. Any ideas?
  7. LUK, the Sony VGP-XL1B media changer is also a recorder and seems to be designed for XP Media center. There are discussions going on in other forums concerning getting this to work as a duplicator. The idea is to load blanks in one of the 200 slots and have imgburn load discs one after the other in sequence. I would personally finance getting the unit to you. *edit* I didn't see the offer you had for remotely working with a unit. I don't have one as of now, but if it would help, then I will buy one in the next couple of weeks and set up my PC (with PC anywhere which I use already) for you to control it via IP or however you want.
  8. Well when I PM'ed you and requested support for that sony media changer a while ago. My offer still stands, LUK. I will litterally buy you or give you enough money to get a Sony VGP-XL1B media changer if this means you will add support for it in IMGBURN. Supporting this device would be a significant achievement so guys like me don't have to spend over $1000-$2000 dollars on a pro DVD/CD duplicator. that's my offer and my contribution to the IMGBURN community
  9. I offered to buy LUK (I gave him a PM as well as an offer in another thread) a sony media changer but he never got back to me on it. That unit is around 300-400 so if he won't take that, I doubt he would take a 700 dollar unit
  10. trust me this won't work. I tried it and got this error: "Unable to lock volume for exclusive access. Reason : Access denied" even without that error, imgburn doesn't have the necessary commands to control the robotic arm, hence the request to officially support this and other devices like this in imgburn.
  11. bump i have the same device and I would love it to be able to work with imgburn
  12. If I donated 50-100 bucks, will this help you get one of these and see if this can be used as an automated duplicator? LUK, I will be more than happy to buy you one of these if you could work on support for imgburn so this device can be used as an automated dvd/cd duplicator
  13. LUK, I would be more than happy to buy you a Sony VGP-XL1B as long as it leads to imgburn supporting it as a DVD/CD duplicator
  14. Hi I just saw this link into the SizeMe site. I couldn't agree more with the users. Implementing SizeMe "handling" for burning with the queue would be a great feature. The feedback shows that several uses SizeMe on a daily basis, but a burn feature is missing, several are complaining. My time is limited, so I haven't got time to implement a burn feature, but I can with StarBurn's SDK that I've bought for it. But I love ImgBurn to, so actually it would be a good idea. Best regards Lars Werner (Author of SizeMe) http://lars.werner.no I am the original poster of this thread. What you suggested would be awesome, but reason I wanted this feature in ImgBurn is because ImgBurn has a queue feature which is convenient for what I need (burns a disc, pops it out after done burning, put in a new blank, repeat process until queue is done). It would be nice to either burn straight to disc or to ISO files. Implementing this feature would make ImgBurn the ultimate tool and would replace many others in a single package.
  15. If I donated 50-100 bucks, will this help you get one of these and see if this can be used as an automated duplicator?
  16. That sucks. It would be a great feature of imgburn. Anyone know of another way of doing this? SizeMe and Burn to the Brim don't actually burn the discs, but they merely calculate number of discs needed and/or create ISOs. I want something that will not only calculate how many discs you need (keeping directories and subdirectories intact), but will actually (and most importantly automatically) burn files/folders to disc and eject disc after burning, and propt for next blank to be inserted
  17. doing it manually would defeat the purpose of spanning across discs. The whole point of my suggestion would be to have things done automatically in the same fashion that using a queue of multiple disc images is done automatically (in the case of a queue of multiple disc images, you choose multiple discs to burn, and have it pop out the disc and you insert another blank. in the case of my suggestion, you would choose multiple files and imgburn would calculate how many discs you need and fill each disc up as much as possible and pop out the disc, and then you insert another blank - repeating until all files are burned)Besides, if you have hundreds of files on a large hard drive that you want on multiple discs, you would want this done automatically rather than dragging and dropping a bunch of files to a program like nero.
  18. we need to set up a donation fund (via PayPal) so we can get LUK his very own Sony VGP-XL1B media changer. Just think of the possibilities if ImgBurn supported such a beast (200 disc automated burner for a fraction of the cost of one of those fancy pants DVD/CD duplication systems they sell for $1000-$2000 on ebay).
  19. I like the new build feature of imgburn since now I don't need Nero for making general data discs. what would be a nice feature, since I have a 300gb hard drive full of DIVX movies that I would love to back up onto DVD, would be to not only calculate how many discs you would need to back up a large volume of files and/or drive (filling each disc up as much as possible), but would automatically build ISOs (or record straight to discs) one by one, and to delete source files once discs are burned or ISOs are built. I really don't want to use a hard drive back up program since none of them let you burn to the kind of discs that you can just pull files from or even read without the backup tool.
  20. this device sounds interesting. Does this device let you load up a bunch of blank CD/DVD blanks into the unit and let you burn multiple discs from it's 200 disc capacity? If this is the case, I would be willing to donate one of these to the ImgBurn author to add support
  21. It would be nice if imgburn supported CD/DVD automated duplicators. The software that usually comes with these devices is crap, so since imgburn has many more options and supports many different images, it would be nice if imgburn supported CD/DVD automated duplicators for those with these kinds of devices that want to set up a queue of multiple discs and let imgburn/automated duplicator take care of the rest
